DREAM COLLIDER

An experimental electroacoustic album of original works.

Following his debut album Letters to My Future Self, Nick Revel evolves the art of layering and sound design in his new genre-phasing collection of works, Dream Collider, released on October 27, 2022 on Sapphire Records. This dreamy collision of Revel's musical influences leans heavily on both pop-inspired electronic and ambient-style film music, pulling the viola into an updated sound world that is relevant and relatable to modern audiences. Recorded and mixed in Revel's home studio, he says, “Born of my own emotional darkness and a yearning for joy during the height of the pandemic, this album provides a sonic fantasy of new worlds, a reprieve from suffering, and visions of realities beyond what is currently possible on Earth.”

Dream Collider Official Album Release Concert

I had such a blast performing live versions of songs from DREAM COLLIDER at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2 in NYC on December 8, 2022. This concert experiment was an extension to all writing, recording, editing, and producing that went into making DREAM COLLIDER a reality. I'm excited to bring this to colleges and other concert venues across the country! Big thanks to Chamber Music NY for presenting and sponsoring this concert. Book this concert experience.

Letters to My Future Self

Letters to My Future Self will take you on a musi- cal journey through the inside of my mind. This self-produced, self-composed, and self-recorded collection breaks preconceived notions of what a viola can do in a constantly-morphing sound- scape of styles and genres. Some of the tracks are layered improvisations, while others are fully notated compositions (some of which I’ve also published). Aside from a few digital instruments, all of the sounds were created only with the viola, because let’s be honest, everything sounds better on viola.

While letters are typically messages sent through space, from point A to point B, mine are travel- ing through time, toward my own future self. I like to imagine what 50-year old Nick will think when he opens this musical time-capsule 20 years from now.

Twitch Streamer

Come hang out, chat, and request your favorite songs.

Twitch was created so gamers can livestream their game play of popular video games. Since the pandemic, many musicians have taken to live streaming themselves playing and writing music. Twitch is a highly interactive playform where viewers can chat with other viewers, ask questions and make comments to the streamer, and even participate in channel activities like song requests, polls, goals, and community-building games. I have so much fun streaming my own compositions, my favorite classical pieces, and live-learning the community’s favorite video game songs. I hope to see you there! Welcome in
